The photographs below were taken during my stay at the Kandersteg International Scout Centre. This area of the Bernese Oberland is a paradise for the outdoor enthusiast. I count myself fortunate for having the opportunity in having spend some time here. It all began the summer of my graduation from high school. I was an Explorer Scout with our local post. Together with my brother John and sister Reta and the rest of our Troop/Post, we piled into a borrowed 68 VW squareback and hit the Autobahn in the direction of Kandersteg. I was so exited that I got pulled over for the first time by our friendly Polizei. Apparently, I passed in a no pass zone. Fortunately, I talked my way out of a ticket with the help of my friend Mike Segeth. He had the gift of speaking fluent German and a lot of BS.
