The Foss Lakes

This was the hike that started it all and ignited my passion and love for the Cascade Mountains and backpacking! In the summer of 1974 ( at the ripe young age of 15 ) I took my first steps into this magical world and have been transformed ever since. The area at the time wasn't an official wilderness area (only proposed ) Two years later it became know as "The Alpine Lakes Wilderness" Flashing forward to 2006 I thought this would be a great hike to take my friends Tanya Heiple and Michelle Williams.
